Recruitment of Anganwadi Workers in Poshan Project Banihal
The Office of the Child Development Project Officer, Banihal has invited applications from eligible female candidates for engagement of Sangini (Anganwadi Worker) on an honorary basis under Poshan Project Banihal.

Eligibility Criteria for Selection of Sangini (AWW)
Age Limit:
Candidate must be a woman in the age group of 18 to 37 years as on 01-01-2026.
Domicile Requirement:
Candidate must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
Residence Requirement:
Candidate should be a resident of the Electoral Ward where the Anganwadi Centre is situated.
Name in the voter list of the concerned ward will be considered as proof of residence.
If the candidate appears in the voter list along with parents, she must provide an unmarried certificate issued by the concerned Tehsildar.
In case of any dispute regarding residence, residence proof issued by the concerned SDM/ACR shall be considered.
Educational Qualification:
Minimum qualification required is 10+2 (Higher Secondary).
Maximum qualification considered will be Graduation.
In case no eligible 10+2 candidate is available within the ward, candidates from adjoining wards may be considered with prior approval of Mission Director, Mission Poshan J&K.
Preference in Selection:
If a suitable candidate is not available from the adjoining ward, the nearest ward candidate within the Panchayat may be considered with approval of Mission Director, Mission Poshan J&K.
Selection Criteria:
Weightage shall be given on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2 qualification.
Selection will be purely merit-based.
Family Preference:
Eligible candidates from the family of a retiring Anganwadi Worker/Anganwadi Helper will receive additional 2% points.
Tie Breaking:
In case of a tie in merit, the candidate with higher age will be preferred.
Higher Qualification:
Candidates having qualification higher than graduation shall not be considered.
Documents Required with Application Form
Candidates must attach the following self-attested documents:
Domicile Certificate
Date of Birth Certificate
Qualification Certificates
Electoral Panchayat/Municipal Ward Certificate along with Ward Number and date, issued by the concerned Block Development Officer/EO (MC)
Unmarried Certificate issued by concerned Tehsildar (where applicable)
Engagement/Relieving Order of AWW/AWH, if the applicant claims to be a family member of retiring AWW/AWH
E-Ration Ticket mentioning category and family details duly attested by TSO concerned
Affidavit sworn before 1st Class Judicial Magistrate stating that the candidate does not possess qualification higher than graduation.
(Candidates found possessing higher qualification than graduation will have their candidature cancelled and action may be initiated under law.)

Applications must be submitted during office hours up to the last date.
Applications will be accepted only against proper receipt.
No application will be entertained after 15-07-2026.
