The period of training (except on-the-job training), internship, teaching, academic, fellowship, or PhD research experience is NOT counted as part of experience. Apprenticeship training (as per the Apprenticeship Act 1961) in the relevant discipline is considered towards the minimum post-qualification experience, subject to other eligibility conditions.
Minimum Marks Required
UR/EWS category candidates (and SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD candidates applying against unreserved posts) should have a first-class degree, or minimum 60% marks in the qualifying degree.
Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD, as applicable) should have at least 50% marks in the qualifying degree for consideration against reserved posts.

The candidate’s degree must be recognised by AICTE, from a University incorporated by an Act of Central/State legislature in India, or another institution established by an Act of Parliament or deemed a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. Sections A & B examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India), treated as equivalent to a Degree by the Government of India and recognised by AICTE, are also accepted. Where a certificate/marksheet does not indicate percentage or division, the applicant must provide the university/institution’s official conversion formula from CGPA/DGPA; if no such formula exists, an authorised undertaking must be submitted, and a minimum of 6 on a 10-point scale will be treated as 60%.
Eligibility for Candidates from Central/State Govt./PSU/Autonomous Organisations
Candidates from Central/State Govt./PSUs/Autonomous Organisations on IDA/CDA pay scales must have a total experience of 8 years (for Sr. Manager) and must have worked at least 2 years in the IDA pay scale of ₹50,000–₹1,60,000 or the CDA pay scale equivalent to Level 9 of the 7th CPC pay matrix. For those on non-IDA/CDA pay scales (State PSUs, Autonomous Organisations, PSBs, Public Sector Insurance Companies, other Statutory Bodies), equivalence is determined by comparing the maximum basic pay in their scale against the relevant IDA/CDA scale. The 2-year residency requirement in the immediate lower scale does not apply to candidates already in the same or a higher pay scale as the advertised post.
Eligibility for Candidates from Private Sector/Other Organisations
Candidates from the private sector or other organisations must have a total experience of 8 years and an annual CTC of at least ₹20.16 lakh as on the last date for submission of the application. The criteria apply to the candidate’s latest/current organisation.

Age relaxation for PwBD candidates applies irrespective of whether the post is reserved for them, provided the post is identified as suitable. In addition to the pay scale, selected candidates are entitled to leaves as per company leave rules, Maternity/Paternity Leave, Medical facility, Group Insurance, and Leave Encashment, as applicable to regular employees.

Fee paid through any mode other than the one specified will not be accepted, and such applications will be treated as without fee and summarily rejected.

Selection Process
1. Written Test
125 objective-type questions, 1 mark each, for a duration of 2.5 hours.
No negative marking – no marks deducted for incorrect answers.
PwBD candidates are eligible for 50 minutes’ compensatory time.
Minimum qualifying marks: 50% for UR/EWS; 45% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD against reserved posts.
2. Document Scrutiny
Based on written test results and the number of vacancies, submitted documents are scrutinized by RITES, and shortlisted candidates are called for interview preceded by verification of original documents. Any deficiency in documents will be notified on the website along with the interview call list; candidates must produce documents fulfilling the deficiency at document verification, or their candidature will be rendered ineligible.
3. Interview
Candidates are called for interview in the ratio of 1:6 to the number of vacancies.
Weightage: Written Test – 60%; Interview – 40% (Technical & Professional Proficiency – 30%, Personality/Communication/Competency – 10%). Total: 100%.
Minimum qualifying marks in interview: 60% for UR/EWS; 50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD against reserved posts.
There is no minimum qualifying marks requirement in the aggregate.
Candidates may appear for the selection process in either Hindi or English.
Based on requirement and RITES’ discretion, the written test and/or interview may be conducted from Regional Offices, intimated via the respective call letters.
Medical Examination
Appointment of selected candidates is subject to being found medically fit in the Medical Examination conducted as per RITES Rules and Standards of Medical Fitness for the relevant post.

Before applying, ensure you satisfy the necessary conditions and requirements for the post.
Apply online through the registration format in the Career Section of the RITES website, http://www.rites.com.
Note down the “Registration No.” generated at the top of the online form – this is required for future logins and all communication with RITES.
Fill in all required details carefully and correctly under “Fill/Modify Application Form.”
Upload all necessary documents under the “Upload Document” section, including: High School certificate (proof of DOB); academic/professional qualification certificates and mark statements for all semesters/years; percentage conversion document (where applicable); EWS/SC/ST/OBC certificate (where applicable); proof of identity & address; PAN Card; proof of each period of claimed experience (in a single PDF, chronologically); PwBD certificate (if applicable); and any other supporting document.
Make the online payment under the “Make Payment” section – applications without successful fee payment are treated as incomplete and summarily rejected.
Download and keep a copy of the final submitted application form, to be carried at the time of selection stages, if called.

RITES Ltd Recruitment 2026 Important Instructions
Candidates should ensure scanned documents are clear and visible – failure to upload the necessary documents substantiating eligibility and claims during online application may lead to cancellation of candidature.
Experience certificates from previous employers, and (for current employment) a joining letter with recent salary slips or Form 16, must be uploaded at the time of document verification.
For proof of CTC/salary, candidates must upload their last Form 16/Earning Card/salary slip/appraisal letter, to be reproduced on the day of interview.
SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates must furnish a Caste Certificate from competent authorities in the prescribed format (Annexure I for SC/ST, Annexure II for OBC-NCL), valid as on the crucial date (last date for application submission).
OBC-NCL candidates must additionally furnish a declaration (Annexure III) confirming they do not belong to the creamy layer on the crucial date; the certificate must not be older than one year on the crucial date.
If OBC-NCL documentation stipulations are not complied with, the candidate’s claim for reserved status will not be entertained, and if otherwise eligible, the candidature will be considered under General (UR) vacancies only.
Incomplete applications or insufficient proof uploads will entail rejection of candidature; no additional information beyond what is furnished in the application will be considered at a later stage.
