Vacancy Details :

A total of 21 posts are available across four engineering disciplines. The table below gives the post-wise vacancy break-up.

Note: As per the official notification, the number of posts is tentative and can be changed at the absolute discretion of SJVN Management as per requirement. Vacancies may also vary depending on the actual need at the time of selection.

Category-wise Reservation Details

Category-wise reservation (including backlog) across levels is as follows:

*1 shortfall of OBC and 1 shortfall of HH (Hearing Handicapped) are noted against the respective posts as per the official advertisement.

Eligibility Criteria

SJVN Educational Qualification

Candidates from the SC/ST/PwBD categories must have scored 50% or more marks, while candidates in other categories need 55% or more marks in the essential qualification. Rounding off of percentage is not permitted; for example, 54.99% will not be considered as 55%.

Age Limit

Minimum age for all posts is 18 years, and applicants must be Indian Nationals. Upper age limit inclusive of all relaxations shall not exceed 55 years.

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation for PwBD candidates is applicable irrespective of whether the post is reserved for that category, provided the post is identified as suitable for PwBD. There is no upper age bar for internal applicants of SJVN.

Experience Requirements

All posts require relevant post-qualification executive experience in Erection/Commissioning and/or Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of Coal-based Thermal Power Plants, including specific experience in Super Critical Thermal Power Plants of minimum 660 MW capacity.

SC/ST candidates get a relaxation of one year in total experience where the requirement is more than three years.

Additional criteria for candidates from Government/CPSE background: Should be working in the equivalent IDA pay scale for at least the last 4 years (E8(a): Rs. 1,20,000-3%-2,80,000; E4/E2: Rs. 60,000-3%-1,80,000 or equivalent).

 

Additional criteria for candidates from Private Sector:

CTC should not be less than Rs. 27 Lakhs per annum for E8(a) posts, and not less than Rs. 13.62 Lakhs per annum for E4/E2 posts.

Candidate should be working in a reputed organization having a minimum annual turnover of Rs. 2,500 Crore or more (average of the three audited financial years preceding the current year).

Teaching experience, internship, apprenticeship, and pre-qualification experience will not be counted towards the required experience. Periods of sabbatical leave and extraordinary leave will also not be counted.

SJVN Identified Disabilities for PwBD Candidates

Only PwBD candidates with a specified disability of not less than 40% are eligible for the applicable benefit of reservation/concession.

Salary Structure

Selected candidates will be placed in the following IDA (Industrial Dearness Allowance) pay scales:

In addition to Basic Pay and IDA, selected candidates will be entitled to attractive perquisites and benefits, including:

Application Fee

Application fee: Rs. 500 plus GST @ 18% (non-refundable), to be paid online.

SC/ST/PwBD/ESM/EWS candidates are exempted from payment of the application fee.

The application process is treated as complete only after submission of the application fee (where applicable).

Application fee is non-refundable even if the candidature is rejected for any reason.

Selection Process

Scrutiny of applications based on the job specifications.

SJVN Management reserves the right to conduct a screening test to restrict the number of candidates called for the Personal Interview, if required.

If conducted, the screening test is qualifying in nature only (50% qualifying marks for UR/EWS/ESM and 40% for other reserved categories) and carries no weightage in the final merit list.

Document verification of shortlisted candidates.

Personal Interview – final selection and merit list are based purely on marks secured in the interview.

Qualifying marks in the interview: 50% for UR/EWS/ESM and 40% for SC/ST/PwBD/OBC (NCL).

Candidates have the option to appear for the Personal Interview in Hindi or English.

Experienced candidates with experience beyond the prescribed minimum may be considered for service weightage by the Selection Committee.

Candidates who qualify in the Personal Interview will be adjudged suitable for empanelment, and the offer of appointment will be issued in order of category-wise merit, subject to requirement and medical fitness.

Recent passport-size colour photograph (white background, max 50 KB, .jpg format)

Signature in blue/black ink (max 50 KB, .jpg format)

Educational qualification certificates

Experience certificates clearly indicating nature of experience, along with supporting documents such as appointment letter, offer letter, joining order, confirmation letter/order, promotion order, role assignment order, transfer order, service certificate, relieving letter, and pay slips

Certified pay and PF slips for the last 6 months

Certificate from the employer confirming relevant experience and pay scale/emoluments

For private sector candidates: Form 16 and ITR for the last 2 financial years, last pay certificate, CTC certificate on company letterhead, and average audited annual turnover details for 3 financial years

Category certificates (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD/ESM), as applicable, at the time of the Personal Interview

OBC (NCL) certificate in the prescribed format, issued in FY 2026-27 or within the last 6 months

Valid photo ID proof (original; photocopies not accepted) at the time of interview

Visit the official SJVN website: www.sjvn.nic.in

Go to the Career section and register with a valid, active email ID and mobile number.

Fill in all details in the online application form carefully, including qualification and experience details for each organization worked at.

Upload the required photograph and signature as per the specified format and size.

Pay the applicable application fee online (if not exempted).

Submit the online application before the closing date, i.e., 26/08/2026 (11:59 PM).

Take a printout of the submitted application (preview) and send it along with the payment receipt, experience details and supporting certificates to the address below, so as to reach on or before 15/09/2026:

Applications submitted online can be edited/updated until the last date of online submission; no changes are permitted after that date. Applications received in hard copy after the prescribed last date will be summarily rejected.

Important Instructions

Candidates should apply online only; no other mode of submission is accepted.

Only one application per post is allowed.

Incomplete applications or applications without the requisite application fee will be rejected.

Where posts are not reserved for a category, reserved-category candidates may also apply under the UR category if they meet the unreserved eligibility criteria.

Candidates called for the Personal Interview will be reimbursed 2nd Class AC Sleeper Rail/Bus fare by the shortest route, as per SJVN rules.

Persons working under Central/State  Government or Public Sector Undertakings must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of interview.

Canvassing in any form will result in immediate disqualification.

Candidates are advised to be cautious of fraudulent persons, agencies, or websites; SJVN does not seek any payment other than the application fee.
