Administration imposes curfew in Jammu

A night curfew has been imposed along the International border in the Samba district of Jammu from yesterday in view of the border security and increased movement of drones recently sent by Pakistan carrying arms, ammunitions and drugs to engineer terrorist activities here.

According to the report, the District Commissioner Samba Abhishek Sharma has issued an order which says that the night curfew will be applicable from 10pm to 4am in areas up to 1 km from the International Border.

The District level standing committee along with BSF officials has taken this decision to avoid any untoward incident at the Samba International border and to keep the area people free in the night for smooth patrolling of security forces to fail infiltration bids.

The people have been told to not to move unnecessarily and carry documents during emergency travel to show to BSFP and J&K police, the report said.

DC Samba has also apprised that if any person found violating this diktat then that person will be arrested under relevant sections of 144.

The order was also issued in the wake of the Amarnath Yatris that has arrived in Jammu and the Yatra that is going to commence from July 1 to foil infiltration attempts from across the border to the Indian side here in Jammu.
