The case was peculiar because unlike a stolen vehicle that could be caught hold of at a police naka, or a stolen mobile phone, which can be tracked via technology, a chain is a tiny item, and once stolen, is very difficult to recover, officials said.

However, under the supervision of SP South Shaheen Wahid, the police was able to catch two snatchers, when they attempted another snatching bid in Trikuta Nagar on Thursday, they said.

The duo have been identified as Ram Sevak son of Beedal and Dharmendra @Ravi son of Mannu, both residents of Shamli of UP, said the SSP.
