Govt upgrades middles schools, high schools, creates 4016 posts

The Jammu and Kash­mir government Thursday upgraded 118 middle schools to high schools and 90 high schools to higher sec­ondary schools. Besides, it also regu­larized 17 schools.

An order issued from the school education department read, “Sanc­tion is hereby accorded to the upgradation of 90 high schools to higher secondary school level. This includes 6 high schools under cen­trally sponsored scheme Samagra Shiksha.”

Furthermore, sanction has been accorded to the upgradation of 118 middle schools to high school level, the order further states, adding that it includes 12 middles schools under centrally sponsored scheme Samagra Shiksha.

Also, the government regularized 17 schools, including 15 middle schools to high schools and 2 high schools to higher second­ary schools identified as hanging schools.

“Sanction is also accorded to the creation of 4016 posts, includ­ing 1694 posts at high school level and 2322 posts at higher second­ary school level,” the order states
