J&K Bank ATM looted in central Kashmir’s Budgam

The machine was later found in a broken condition at GunjBagh adjacent to the village, a police officer said

Unidentified people in the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday stole the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) from JK bank and then decamped cash in the Panzan Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam.

A police officer reported that unidentified people walked into the JK Bank ATM located in Panzan within Budgam and stole cash and an ATM. It was unclear about the amount of cash that was inside the ATM the officer said.

The machine was discovered in a damaged state in GunjBagh near the village.

An effort is underway to locate the perpetrators, the police officer added, noting that the ATM guard’s statements will be recorded as well as footage from CCTV will be scrutinized, and the investigation will be given an orientation,” he said.

A case that falls under the specific law has been registered at Police Station Chadoora, and the investigation continues the table, said the officer.
