Locals stage protest in Jammu, demands assembly elections in J
Scores of party workers of J-K Congress with senior members of the party on Tuesday staged an agitation outside Congress office at Shaheedi chowk, which later metamorphosed into a protest march towards Raj Bhavan amidst heavy police presence.
The dissenters led by senior party leader Vikar Rasool Wani and others were taking out a protest march towards Raj Bhavan from Shaheedi chowk, but on the way their march was foiled by the police personnel deployed there.
The vexed dissenters were heard yelling slogans ‘Hold assembly elections in J&K, ‘Jawab Do Do Satyal Pal Malik Kay Allegations Ka Jawab Do’, ‘Boycott Modi-Adani’ in the protest.
Speaking to the media, J-K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Vikar Rasool Wani, said, “Democracy is being murdered and opposition leaders are being crushed”.
“The BJP plotted against Rahul Gandhi and his parliament membership has been taken away” , he alleged.
“He raised his voice against thieves like Mehul Choksi, Nirav Modi and they should be sentenced instead of opposition leaders”, he asserted.
“Satya Pal Malik’s revelation on Pulwama attack that the CRPF personnel had not martyred if the govt had given them an aircraft has made the whole country persons cry”, he claimed.
“Malik’s second revelation that he was told to remain silent on the security lapses in Pulwama attack by the PM Modi and NSA Ajit Doval so that the BJP can reap political benefits out of it” , he added.
“PM Modi has used the martyrdom of Pulwama victim soldiers for voting in various places and he should be ashamed of it”, he demanded.
“The PM should apologised to the whole country and to the family of Pulwama terror attack martyrs”, he asked.
