Inviting Applications for Admission to Scheduled Tribe (Gaddi Sippi) Hostel of District Udhampur for the Academic Session 2026-27.
ADMISSION NOTICE
Applications on the prescribed format as per Annexure-A to this notice are invited from eligible students (Male) belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (Gaddi-Sippi) community for admission to ST (Gaddi-Sippi) Boys Hostel, Udhampur functioning under the Administrative control of Directorate of Tribal Affairs, J&K, for the Academic Session 2026-27 against the available vacancies.
Eligibility Criteria:
The applicant shall fulfil the following eligibility conditions/criteria:
a) The applicant must be domicile of Jammu Division, Jammu and Kashmir and must belong to the Scheduled Tribe (Gaddi-Sippi) community.
b) The applicant must be pursuing a regular Undergraduate/Post Graduate Course in a Government/ Government-recognized Colleges, of District Udhampur.
c) The applicant must fall under any one of the following;
* Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) category; or
* Below Poverty Line (BPL) category; or
* Low-income group having an annual family income not exceeding Rs 2.50 lakh.
d) Students who have already stayed in Gaddi-Sippi hostel Udhampur for three (03) years (for UG course) and two (02) years for (PG course) shall not be eligible for fresh admission in hostel.
e) Students who are already residing in the ST/Gaddi-Sippi Hostel for UG courses and are seeking admission in hostel for PG Course(s) shall have to apply afresh provided they do not fall under condition (d).
Selection Procedure:
Admissions shall be made strictly on merit in accordance with the point-based selection system prescribed and preferences as notified under the Admission Policy notified Vide Government Order No. 24-JK (TAD) of 2026 dated 03.06.2026.
Documents Required to be attached with application form:
Applicants shall submit self-attested copies of the following documents:
1. Domicile Certificate.
2. Valid Scheduled Tribe Certificate indicating Gaddi/Sippi status.
3. Valid AAY/BPL Ration Card, wherever applicable.
4. Income Certificate (in case of applicants under the low-income group category).
5. [Aadhaar Redacted] Card.
6. Marks Certificate of the qualifying examination (i.e 12th or Graduation).
7. Certificate from concern Head of Institution (Hol) regarding admission and continuation of course during 2026-27 as regular student.
8. Death Certificate(s) in case of orphan applicants.
9. Recent passport-size photograph affixed on application form at the space provided and duly attested by Hol concern.
Submission of Applications:
The prescribed application form may be obtained from Directorate office or the offices of concern Deputy Directors, Tribal Affairs Department concerned or Warden of ST/Gaddi-Sippi Hostel Udhampur, or may be downloaded from the official website of the Tribal Affairs department, J&K (https://tribalaffairs.jk.gov.in)
Completed application forms, along with all requisite documents, shall be submitted in the office of Directorate of Tribal Affairs J&K Srinagar (Dalgate Suleiman Complex, Second Floor Srinagar) or Deputy Director Tribal Affairs Jammu (Gandhi Nagar, Near District Police Line, Jammu) or in the office of Warden ST/Gaddi-Sippi Hostel Udhampur or through email ([email protected]) by or before 05.09.2026.

* Publication of selection/waiting list: To be notified separately.
General Instructions:
* Incomplete applications or applications received after the prescribed last date shall not be entertained.
* Mere submission of an application shall not confer any right to admission.
* Admissions shall be strictly as per the provisions of admission policy notified Vide Government Order No. 24-JK (TAD) of 2026 dated 03.06.2026 read with amendment, if any.
* The decision of the Selection committee headed by Director Tribal Affairs, J&K, regarding selection and admission shall be final and binding.
