Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar, Academic Section, has issued a notification regarding the operationalization of the waiting list for the tenure post of Senior Resident in Pediatric Orthopaedics.

The notification has been issued with reference to Advertisement No. 08 of 2026 dated 02 June 2026. The written examination for the post was conducted on 19 August 2026, following which the Examination Cell issued the result and provisional selection list through Notification No. 23-EC of 2026 dated 16 September 2026.

Why Was the Waiting List Operationalized?

According to the notification, two candidates had applied for the Senior Resident post in the discipline of Pediatric Orthopaedics.

As per the applicable government instructions, a waiting list is maintained along with the selection list for each discipline. The waiting list remains valid for three months, and if a selected candidate fails to join, the next eligible candidate in order of merit may be invited to join.

In the present case, one candidate, Dr. Rouf Ibrahim Khandy, did not submit the required CID verification roll through the Employee Verification System (EVS) within the prescribed time and/or withdrew candidature. Consequently, the next candidate in the waiting list has been upgraded and provisionally selected.

Dr. Idrees Ayoub Provisionally Selected

The notification lists the following candidate as provisionally selected for the post of Senior Resident in Pediatric Orthopaedics:

Dr. Idrees Ayoub was the candidate next in line at Serial No. 01 of the waiting list and has consequently been upgraded and provisionally selected.

Documents Required for Verification

The provisionally selected candidate has been directed to report to the Office of the Registrar Academics, Government Medical College, Srinagar, along with the required documents.

The candidate is required to submit the documents within seven days from the date of issuance of the notification so that the office can proceed with the Employee Verification System (EVS) process for verification of character and antecedents.

The documents mentioned in the notification include:

Application form in coloured copy.

Xerox copies of all uploaded certificates.

Affidavit in original.

All original certificates for physical verification.

Employee Verification System (EVS) Process

The selected candidate will be required to submit the online form through the Employee Verification System (EVS) for verification of character and antecedents.

The notification states that the URL, login ID and password will be sent to the candidate’s registered mobile number to facilitate submission of the online verification form.

Selection May Be Forfeited for Non-Compliance

The notification makes it clear that failure to complete the EVS process within the stipulated period or failure to produce the required documents during physical verification may result in forfeiture of the candidate’s selection without any further notice.

Candidates should therefore ensure that all required documents are available and submitted within the prescribed timeframe.

Important Note for the Selected Candidate

The notification specifically states that after the cutoff date, the login ID will be deactivated. Therefore, timely completion of the online verification process is important.

The latest notification effectively activates the waiting list for the Senior Resident, Pediatric Orthopaedics position at Government Medical College, Srinagar.
