J&K School Education Department Issues Appointment Order
The Government of Jammu and Kashmir, School Education Department, has issued Government Order No. 399-JK(Edu) of 2026, dated 28 September 2026, sanctioning the appointment of five candidates as Lecturers in the discipline of Zoology in the School Education Department.
The appointments have been made in Pay Level-9, carrying a salary of ₹52,700–₹1,66,700, and will take effect from 3 September 2026.
The order has been issued in continuation of Government Order No. 361-JK(Edu) of 2026 dated 03.09.2026 and follows the recommendation received from the Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC).
Details of Appointed Zoology Lecturers
The following five candidates have been appointed as Lecturers in Zoology:

Salary and Pay Scale
The appointed candidates will be placed in Pay Level-9, with a pay scale of ₹52,700 to ₹1,66,700.
Their appointment will remain subject to the terms and conditions specified in the government order, including verification of educational, professional and technical qualifications.
Joining Instructions
The appointees belonging to Jammu Division are required to report to the Director, School Education, Jammu, while candidates belonging to Kashmir Division have to report to the Director, School Education, Kashmir.
They must report for joining within 21 days from the date of issuance of the appointment order.
Failure to join within the prescribed period will result in forfeiture of the right to appointment, and the order will be treated as withdrawn ab-initio, without any further notice.
A formal posting order will be issued separately by the competent authority.
Appointment Subject to Verification
The appointments are provisional and subject to verification of the candidates’ educational, professional and/or technical qualifications from the concerned issuing authorities.
If any discrepancy, misrepresentation or adverse finding is detected during the verification process, the appointment may be cancelled in accordance with the applicable rules.
Documents Required at the Time of Joining
The appointees are required to produce the original copies of the prescribed documents, including:
Academic Qualification Certificates
Matriculation/Date of Birth Certificate
Health Certificate issued by the concerned Chief Medical Officer
Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority
Category Certificate, wherever applicable
Self-Employment Loan Condition
The order also contains provisions for candidates who have taken loans for self-employment from the DIC/Employment Department.
Such candidates are required to obtain the necessary verification from the concerned District Industries Centre (DIC) and District Employment & Counselling Centre. They must relinquish proprietorship of the self-employment unit/enterprise and repay the outstanding loan liability in suitable instalments from their salary.
The concerned DDO will obtain an affidavit from the appointee regarding relinquishment of proprietorship and recovery of the loan.
Affidavit and Document Verification
The appointed candidates are required to furnish an affidavit confirming that all certificates and documents submitted in support of their appointment are genuine, valid and issued by the competent authorities.
If any document is subsequently found to be fake, forged, tampered with or otherwise invalid, the appointment will be treated as void ab-initio and may be cancelled. Further legal, disciplinary or other action may also be initiated under the applicable rules.
Salary to Be Released After Satisfactory Verification
The release and disbursement of salary will be subject to receipt of a satisfactory verification report. No pay or allowances will be authorised until the required verification has been completed and found satisfactory.
New Pension Scheme
The appointed Lecturers will be governed by the provisions of the New Pension Scheme (NPS) in accordance with SRO-400 dated 24 December 2009, as amended from time to time.
Posting Anywhere in J&K
The appointees will be liable to serve at any place within the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, depending on administrative requirements and public service needs.
The Director, School Education, Jammu/Kashmir, will submit the joining reports of the appointees to the Administrative Department for further allocation and placement against available vacancies in Higher Secondary Schools across J&K.
Inter-Se Seniority
The inter-se seniority of the appointed Lecturers will be determined according to the order of merit assigned by the Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission in the select list.
The appointments will also remain subject to the outcome of any writ petition(s), if pending before a competent court of law.
