Kashmir University interview for the positions of Junior Research Fellow/ Junior Project Fellow
The interested and eligible candidates are invited for a walk-in-interview to be held on 11th August, 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Department of Botany, University of Kashmir, Srinagar for the positions of Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/ Junior Project Fellow (JPF) sanctioned in the research project entitled “Structure and Functioning of Himalayan Monsoon Shadow Forest Ecosystems”, Sub-project: “To link species diversity for sustainable management of forests in monsoonal and monsoon-shadow forest regions of Western Himalaya”, funded under the National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS), Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate change, Govt. of India. The engagement of JRF/JPF shall be initially for a period of one year subject to satisfactory performance and conduct. Further extension for a maximum period of two years will be based on outcome, behaviour, conduct, performance and release of funds by the funding agency. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The candidates must bring a duly signed application for the aforementioned position, along with their biodata and self-attested photocopies of certificates, testimonials, and other relevant documents on the day of the interview. They are also required to produce the original certificates in support of their qualifications, percentage of marks, NET qualification (if applicable), and any relevant research experience. No TA/DA shall be paid to the candidates for appearing in the interview.

Monthly emoluments : Rs. 37000 for 1st two years and Rs.42000 for 3rd year+HRA@16% /month
Eligibility: Essential qualification Postgraduate in Botany with minimum of 55% marks from a recognized university/institution having qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) Desirable qualification Experience in field survey and plant sampling
This category of Junior Project Fellow (JPF) is applicable only when NET qualified candidates are
not available and Junior Project Fellow (JPF) will be paid emoluments as per the Guidelines of the
Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Govt. of India.
