Kishtwar Handloom Handicrafts Training 2026
The Office of the Assistant Director, Handicrafts Kishtwar, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, has invited applications from eligible candidates for skill upgradation training in the Handloom and Handicrafts sector under the R&R Plan.
The training opportunity is specifically aimed at Project Affected Families (PAFs) and interested candidates belonging to Project Affected Sites of Hydro Electric Power Projects (HEPPs) in Kishtwar.
Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications from October 3, 2026, while the last date for submission is October 13, 2026, before 4:30 PM.
Kishtwar Handloom and Handicrafts Training 2026
Under the skill development component of the R&R Plan, the Department of Handloom and Handicrafts, Kishtwar, will establish a total of seven training centres.
Out of these, five centres will be opened by the Handloom Department, while two centres will be opened by the Handicrafts Department.
Each training centre will have a capacity of 20 trainees, providing an opportunity for local candidates to acquire practical skills and improve their employment and livelihood prospects.

The five Handloom training centres are associated with Ratle (03) and Pakal (02) HEPPs. The recommended project-affected sites include:

The two Handicrafts training centres are associated with Kwar (01) and Kiru (01) HEPPs and cover :

Duration and Capacity of Training
The training programme will be conducted for a period of three months.
Each centre will accommodate 20 trainees, allowing candidates to receive structured skill development and practical exposure in their respective trades.
The training will be conducted in the local Project Affected Area, subject to submission of a signed venue certificate by the trainees.

Candidates selected for the programme will receive several benefits, including:
Skill upgradation and practical training.
Monthly stipend of Rs. 2,000 per trainee per month.
Tool kits and essential tools/equipment required for training.
Raw material support.

Registration with the Handloom and Handicrafts Department.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must fulfill the eligibility conditions mentioned in the official notification.
The applicant/trainee must be above 18 years and below 55 years of age as on October 1, 2026.
Both male and female candidates can apply.
Only one trainee per member/ration card is permitted.
The applicant must submit a certificate from the concerned Tehsildar confirming that he/she belongs to a Project Affected Family or Project Affected Site.
Applicants must submit the prescribed application form along with the required documents.
Aadhaar Card, Ration Card, PAN Card and Bank Account details are required.
A venue certificate signed by all trainees must also be submitted.
Applicants are required to provide a GPS-tagged photograph of the private building, where applicable, particularly if a vacant Government building is not available.

The prescribed forms and annexures can be obtained from the Handloom and Handicrafts Department, Complex No. 02, DC Office Complex, Kishtwar.
Candidates can also scan the QR code provided in the notification to access the forms.
The department has also provided the facility to obtain the forms through WhatsApp by contacting the concerned helpline numbers.
How to Apply for Kishtwar Skill Training 2026
Eligible and interested candidates are required to submit their duly filled and self-attested application forms, along with all necessary documents, to the concerned offices of the Handloom and Handicrafts Departments.
Applications should be submitted at:
Handloom Department: Hall No. 14, Complex No. 02, 2nd Floor, New DC Complex, Mini Secretariat, Zellanа, Kishtwar.
Handicrafts Department: Hall No. 15, Complex No. 02, 2nd Floor, New DC Complex, Mini Secretariat, Zellanа, Kishtwar.
Applications must be submitted within 10 days of issuance/publication of the notification. No application will be accepted after the prescribed deadline and time.
Selection Priority
The selection of trainees will be made on a priority basis.
The first preference will be given to members of Project Affected Families, followed by interested candidates belonging to the concerned Project Affected Site.
