NIELIT Announces Free Skill Development Training Courses
The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Srinagar/Jammu, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, has announced free training programmes under the Skill Development for Digital Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh initiative.
The initiative aims to equip young people with industry-relevant digital and technical skills and improve their employment opportunities. Interested and eligible candidates can register for various courses in emerging technology fields, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Information Security, Cloud Computing, Network Security and Data Analysis.
The training programmes are sponsored by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Admissions will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and candidates are advised to complete their registration before the prescribed deadline.
Course Details :
NIELIT has announced the following eight skill development courses for eligible candidates:
1. Fundamentals of IoT (NSQF Level-4)
Duration: 90 Hours
Eligibility: 12th pass with Science.
This course will introduce students to the fundamentals of the Internet of Things (IoT), connected devices and smart technologies. It will help participants understand how devices communicate and exchange information through networks.
2. Fundamentals of Information Security (NSQF Level-4)

Duration: 90 Hours
Eligibility: 12th pass with Science.
The programme will provide basic knowledge of information security, digital safety and protection of information systems. Candidates will learn about security concepts and measures used to safeguard digital information.
3. Cloud Computing Assistant (NSQF Level-3)
Duration: 300 Hours
Eligibility: 10th pass.
This course is designed to introduce candidates to cloud computing technologies, cloud-based services and basic computing infrastructure. It will help participants develop practical knowledge of cloud computing operations.
4. Essentials of Network Security Measures (NSQF Level-5)
Duration: 120 Hours
Eligibility: Undergraduate Diploma.
The course will focus on essential network security measures, including protecting computer networks, understanding security threats and learning the basic techniques used to maintain secure network environments.
5. Data Analysis Assistant (NSQF Level-3)
Duration: 330 Hours
Eligibility: 10th pass.
This programme will introduce students to data analysis concepts and techniques. Participants will develop an understanding of working with data, analysing information and supporting data-based decision-making.
6. Essentials of AI (Upskilling) (NSQF Level-4)
Duration: 210 Hours
Eligibility: 12th pass with Science.
This upskilling programme will provide knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and its applications. It is intended to help eligible candidates understand AI concepts and develop skills relevant to emerging technology requirements.
7. Foundation of AI Technology (NSQF Level-3.5)
Duration: 90 Hours
Eligibility: 10th pass.
The course will introduce candidates to the foundational concepts of Artificial Intelligence, its technological applications and its growing importance across different industries.
8. Artificial Intelligence Assistant (NSQF Level-3)
Duration: 300 Hours
Eligibility: 10th pass.
This programme will help candidates develop foundational skills related to Artificial Intelligence and understand its practical applications in the digital and technology sectors.
Objective of the Skill Development Initiative
The Skill Development for Digital J&K initiative aims to promote digital empowerment and inclusive growth across Jammu and Kashmir by providing young people with industry-relevant technical skills.
The programme focuses on improving access to quality skill development opportunities, particularly for youth seeking employment in the rapidly growing digital and technology sectors.
Through specialised training programmes, NIELIT intends to strengthen the technical capabilities of participants and connect skilled candidates with meaningful career opportunities.
