11 killed in as strong storm
At least 11 people were killed after a powerful storm accompanied by heavy rain lashed Uttar Pradesh’s Bhadohi and Budaun districts on Wednesday.
The severe weather caused widespread destruction, uprooting trees and electricity poles, damaging homes, and disrupting mobile networks.
Officials said rescue and relief operations were underway, with fears that the death toll could rise further.
Several people were also injured in incidents linked to collapsing structures and falling trees during the storm.

Eleven people were killed on Wednesday after a powerful storm accompanied by heavy rains caused widespread damage in Bhadohi and Budaun districts of Uttar Pradesh, officials said.
In Bhadhoi, Additional District Magistrate Kunwar Virendra Kumar Maurya said reports were coming from several areas about uprooted trees, electricity poles and damaged houses.

He said restoration and rescue operations faced difficulties because mobile networks were disrupted due to the storm.
Maurya said sub-divisional magistrates, tehsildars, other district officials and police were inspecting and carrying out relief work across all three tehsils of the district.
