All govt employees in J&K directed to attend I-Day celebrations

As a recent directive, the government of Jammu and Kashmir has mandated the attendance of all government employees stationed in Srinagar and Jammu at the main Independence Day celebrations on August 15, 2024.

Independence Day is an important national event celebrated on 15th August every year. All government employees are duty-bound to participate in commemorating such a significant turning point in the history of our nation.

It further reads that as per the directive, all officers and officials in the Union Territory are required to attend the main function at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar or Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu. Attendance is deemed a part of their official duties, and any absence will only be permitted with prior permission from their immediate superior.

The order also emphasizes that all Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, and Managing Directors/Chief Executives of Public Sector Undertakings must ensure the attendance of all officers and officials under their administrative control who are stationed in Srinagar and Jammu.—(KB)
