Army soldier injured in Battal infiltration succumbs
The army man who was critically injured during the exchange of fire between militants and security in the Battal area of KG Sector Mendhar Poonch succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
Official sources said that the Army foiled an Infiltration bid in the Battal sector; during the exchange, one soldier, identified as Subhash, was critically injured.
He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries, they said.
Earlier, Taking on to the micro-blogging platform X, the army wrote, “Alert troops foiled an infiltration bid by effectively engaging infiltrating terrorists with effective fire in the Battal Sector at 0300h.
During the exchange of heavy fire, one brave heart has been injured. Operations are continuing, reads the post.
