Commencement of Summer Break for schools – adherence of SOPs

Main points of the circular:

All Zonal Education Officers and Heads of Institutions in Anantnag have been directed to follow these SOPs during summer break:

Activate CCTV monitoring and alarm systems in schools where available. Restrict access to sensitive areas like laboratories and rooftops.

Check fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and electrical wiring. Also clean rooftop drains and ensure water/sanitation facilities are in order.

Keep academic and financial records safe to prevent theft or damage. Digital records should be backed up to cloud storage or physical drives.

Provide students with holiday homework, reading lists, or projects so they remain academically engaged during the break.

Prepare duty rosters for essential administrative staff and staff involved in admission work, without claiming detention on duty.

Prepare duty rosters for MTS staff for protection and upkeep of school assets during the summer break.

Important note:

The Head of Institution and staff will be responsible for the safety of school assets and records. Any laxity or negligence by responsible officers will be taken seriously.
