Says Statehood protest to continue under Dr Farooq Abdullah’s leadership as Chief Minister leaves to personally monitor weather-related developments in Jammu Division
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday said he is cutting short his visit to Delhi and leaving for Jammu to personally monitor the evolving weather situation following alerts issued by the Meteorological Department.
As per news agency, CM Omar Abdullah, in a post on X, said the decision was taken in view of the seriousness of the situation unfolding across parts of the Jammu division.

“In light of the weather warning put out by the Meteorological Department and the seriousness of the situation unfolding across parts of Jammu Division, I will leave Delhi to fly to Jammu this afternoon to personally monitor the situation on the ground,” the Chief Minister said.
He also clarified that the scheduled protest demanding restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood will continue as planned under the leadership of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah.
“The statehood protest will go ahead under the leadership of President Dr Farooq Abdullah as planned,” Omar Abdullah said.
