“Stressed for Coordination, Commitment and Care for Pilgrims”

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Sh. Maqsood ul Zaman, IPS, Overall Supervisory Officer for security arrangements on the Baltal Axis for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, chaired review meeting of all stakeholders at Baltal.

The meeting was attended by senior officers and representatives from key departments including Police, CID, Army, CAPFs, SASB, Traffic Police, Telecom, NDRF, UTDRF, MRT, Fire & Emergency Services, Civil Administration, Health Department, KPDCL, PHE, RDD and other departments associated with the conduct of SANJY-2026. Police Yatra Officer, Asstt. Police Yatra Officer and I/C JPCR were also present in the meeting.

Detailed deliberations were held on security arrangements, traffic management, disaster preparedness, medical facilities, communication network, sanitation, power/ water supply, emergency response mechanisms and overall pilgrim facilitation.

It was stressed on all departments to work in close synergy, maintain effective communication and remain fully prepared to facilitate smooth conduct of the pilgrimage. Special focus was laid on ensuring pilgrim safety, convenience and adherence to standard operating procedures.
