India cuts windfall tax on diesel and ATF exports, sets petrol duty at zero
The revised rates lower the diesel export levy to Rs 24 per litre and ATF duty to Rs 19.5, while removing the tax on petrol exports.

India has cut export duties on petrol, diesel and aviation turbine fuel from August 15, according to a government order, setting the petrol levy at zero and lowering the rates on diesel and ATF.
The duty on petrol exports has been reduced to nil from Rs 3.5 per litre. The total levy on diesel exports has been cut to Rs 24 per litre from Rs 25.5, while the ATF export duty has been lowered to Rs 19.5 per litre from Rs 22.
The revisions apply to petroleum products cleared for export. The Finance Ministry has previously said that changes to these export levies do not alter the excise duty rates on petrol and diesel cleared for domestic consumption.
