JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 10-05-2026
From 08-05-2026, 1600 hrs. to 09-05-2026, 1600 hrs., slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane conditions between Marog and Kishtwar Pather, in addition to breakdown of 03 HMV at Nashri and Nachlana, and the movement of 18 nomadic herds (crossing Nachlana–Banihal).
Owing to ongoing movement of 03 nomadic herds, traffic on the single-lane stretch from Marog to Kishtwar Pather is likely to slow down. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline and avoid overtaking.
Passenger/LMV operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime. Night travel should be avoided due to apprehension of shooting stones/landslides. Movement of nomads towards valley as well as ongoing construction between Ramban and Banihal may cause inconvenience to commuters.
NH-44 (NHW)
Subject to fair weather and better road condition, LMVs/Passenger/HPVs/Private Cars/HMVs (Good carrier) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) via from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline, overtaking, wrong lane driving will cause congestion. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding the road condition.
S/F Convoy Movement :
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) via Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. They shall move after confirming their timings from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244:
As per order issued by the SDM Chatroo vide No. SDM/IC/2026/27/149-58 dated 05-05-2026 and the SDM Kokernag vide No. SDM/KNG/26-27/2017 dated 01-05-2026, subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from Road Maintenance agencies (NHIDCL), only LMVs/Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed to ply from Kishtwar towards Srinagar via Sinthan Top. These vehicles shall be allowed from PR Ramban between 0830 hrs. to 1530 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timing. TCU Jammu/Ramban/TCU Srinagar shall coordinate about the cut-off timing.
SSG ROAD
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after receiving green signal from Road Maintenance agencies (LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed to ply from Kargil towards Srinagar on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri road). In view of the apprehension of avalanches along the Zoji La axis, these vehicles shall be allowed to move from Kargil towards Srinagar only after receiving green signal from the road maintenance agencies and no vehicle shall be allowed after 1530 hrs. Motorists are advised to carry snow chains and sufficient fuel for the slippery road. TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will inform all concerned about the cut-off timing.
S/F Convoy Movement:
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, Security Forces vehicles shall ply from Kargil towards Srinagar as per their movement plan.
Mughal Road:
As per the orders issued by the District Magistrate, Shopian vide No. DMS/ADM/PS/25-26/7825-26 dated 22-04-2026 and the District Magistrate, Poonch vide No. DM/P/25-26/853-4 dated 20-04-2026, subject to fair weather and road condition, only LMVs shall be allowed from Shopian towards Poonch and vice-versa. These vehicles shall be allowed from Poonch towards Shopian and vice-versa. These vehicles shall be allowed from Chandimarh (Baffliaz) towards Shopian between 0900 hrs. to 1700 hrs., and from Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch between 1000 hrs. to 1700 hrs., after obtaining clearance from the road maintenance agency (GREF). No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timings. TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar shall inform all concerned regarding the cut-off timings.
