From 11-07-2026, 1600 hrs to 12-07-2026, 1600 hrs

Traffic movement over NH-44 due to single-lane constraints between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel, slow movement of vehicles between Ramban and Banihal, and poor surface conditions at Dalwas and Mehad-Cafeteria.

General Advisory

Traffic on NH-44 shall be regulated subject to fair weather and good road conditions.

Commuters are advised to undertake journeys on NH-44 only after confirming the status from Traffic Control Units.

Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) including private cars are advised to use the Jammu–Srinagar NH-44 during daytime.

Load carriers carrying fresh fruits and vegetables should use the Jammu–Srinagar NH-44 to avoid congestion at Lower Munda.

Passenger LMVs should avoid travelling during the night hours on NH-44 due to the risk of shooting stones, landslides and poor visibility.

Goods carriers (HMVs) carrying fresh perishable commodities will be allowed to move after assessing road and traffic conditions.

Fruit-loaded HMVs carrying fresh perishables from the Valley should be loaded only up to the designated carrying capacity.

HMVs without traffic slips should not be allowed to move between Navyug Tunnel and Levdora on the day of downward convoy to ensure smooth traffic regulation.

HMVs carrying empty LPG cylinders are advised to use the Jammu–Srinagar NH-44.

Security force convoy movement shall be facilitated only after assessing traffic conditions.

Commuters are advised not to overtake between Ramban and Banihal, especially over landslide-prone areas.

Traffic Plan & Advisory for 13-07-2026

Jammu → Srinagar (NH-44)

Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs/passenger/private vehicles shall be allowed from both sides.

HMVs will be allowed as per traffic management plan after assessing road conditions.

Cut-off Timing for LMVs & Passenger/Private Cars

Nagrota (Jammu) towards Srinagar

06:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs

Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar

07:00 hrs to 13:00 hrs

No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timing.

HMV/Load Carrier Movement

Subject to fair weather, road conditions and traffic assessment, HMVs shall be allowed to move.

After assessing NH-44 conditions, loaded HMVs carrying fresh fruits, vegetables, livestock, milk and other perishables shall be allowed from Navyug Tunnel towards Jammu.

Other HMVs will be released according to the traffic management plan.

Army Convoy Movement

Army convoys shall be facilitated after assessing traffic conditions. Civilian traffic may be temporarily halted to ensure smooth convoy passage.

Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag Road

Subject to fair weather and road conditions, traffic shall be allowed.

SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri)

Subject to fair weather and road conditions, LMVs shall be allowed from both sides.

No vehicle shall be allowed after the notified cut-off timing.

Commuters should avoid unnecessary halts due to shooting stones and slippery road stretches.

Mughal Road (Buffliaz–Shopian)

Subject to fair weather and road conditions, traffic shall be allowed.

LMVs shall be allowed from both sides.

Movement timings and restrictions shall be as per Traffic Police instructions.

No vehicle shall be allowed after the prescribed cut-off timing.
