All commuters must carry their valid ID cards during the journey.

Local commuters travelling towards Srinagar in private vehicles are advised to use the old Jawahar Tunnel road to avoid congestion and checking at Lamber (Banihal).

Passenger vehicle operators are advised to prefer travel on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway during daytime only. Night travel should be avoided due to the possibility of shooting stones, landslides, ongoing road construction between Ramban and Banihal, and movement related to the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, which may cause inconvenience.

Operators of goods carriers (HMVs/LCVs) carrying fresh perishables and livestock are advised to load vehicles as per the advisories issued by the Traffic Police Headquarters from time to time. Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) shall be allowed on alternate days only.

Fruit growers and Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) operators transporting fresh fruits from the Kashmir Valley towards Jammu are advised to load and park their vehicles before 8:00 AM at designated locations between the Navyug Tunnel and Levdora on the day of the downward convoy to facilitate smooth movement.
