JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 15th July 2026
From 13-07-2026, 0800 hrs to 14-07-2026, 0800 hrs
Traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane conditions between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel, slow movement on the Dalwas–Mehad and Marog–Kishtwari Pather stretches, and breakdown of a few vehicles at different locations.
After assessing the traffic situation and road conditions, the following traffic plan has been issued for 14-07-2026.
Local Commuters
Local commuters travelling in private vehicles towards Srinagar are advised to use the old road via Jaswant Tunnel in order to avoid congestion at Lamberi (Battery).
Similarly, commuters travelling to Batote, Doda, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar and adjoining areas are advised to use the old road via Patnitop while travelling from Jammu.
Passenger/LMV Movement
Passenger/LMV operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu–Srinagar NH-44 during daytime. Night travel should be avoided due to the possibility of shooting stones, landslides and shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.
Goods Carriers (HMVs)
Goods carriers carrying fresh perishable commodities are advised to load their vehicles as per the advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters from time to time. HMVs shall be allowed to ply on alternate days only.
Fruit-loaded Trucks
Fruit-loaded trucks carrying fresh fruit are advised to maintain lane discipline. Vehicles should avoid unnecessary overtaking and ensure smooth traffic movement.
HMVs
HMVs carrying essential commodities shall be allowed after assessment of traffic conditions. Drivers are advised to check the latest traffic advisory before starting their journey on NH-44.
Traffic Plan & Advisory for 14-07-2026
Jammu → Srinagar NH-44
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
Passenger vehicles shall be allowed from both sides as per traffic regulation.
LMVs/private cars shall be allowed on the designated timings.
HMVs carrying essential commodities shall move as per regulation.
No vehicle shall be allowed against the traffic plan.
Srinagar → Jammu
Vehicles shall be allowed as per the traffic regulation after clearance from Traffic Control Units.
Cut-off Timings for LMVs
(To be released from Nagrota/Jammu)
Nagrota (Jammu) towards Srinagar: 0600 hrs to 1200 hrs
Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar: 0700 hrs to 1300 hrs
Qazigund towards Jammu: 1100 hrs to 1700 hrs
No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timings.
HMV Movement
Subject to weather, better road conditions and assessment by Traffic Police.
Empty trucks returning from Kashmir may be regulated depending upon road conditions.
Army Convoy Movement
Army convoy movement shall be regulated strictly in coordination with Traffic Police depending upon road conditions and restoration work.
Advisory
People are advised to:
Avoid unnecessary travel on NH-44.
Drive slowly in shooting stone and landslide-prone areas.
Follow lane discipline.
Do not overtake unnecessarily.
Follow instructions of Traffic Police personnel deployed on the highway.
