JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 15th June 2026

NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar National Highway)

From 13-06-2026, 1600 hrs to 14-06-2026, 1600 hrs, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to engine failure/breakdown conditions between Ramban and Kishtwar Pather, along with the breakdown of 03 Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) between Ramban and Banihal.

District Magistrate Ramban vide Order No. ADMR/542-54 dated 10-06-2026 has granted permission to NHAI for carrying out relaying works (bituminous works) during night hours on 12th, 14th and 16th June 2026 at various locations, including the critical location at Nachlana on NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar NH).

Accordingly, traffic movement will remain suspended between Nashri and Navyug Tunnel during the intervening nights of:

14th/15th June 2026

16th/17th June 2026

from 2200 hrs to 0500 hrs each night.

Due to the traffic suspension on NH-44, no movement of any kind of vehicle will be allowed after 1700 hrs from Udhampur towards Ramban, Banihal and Srinagar. Similarly, no vehicle movement will be permitted from the Srinagar side towards Jammu after the specified cut-off timings.

Advisory for Passengers / LMV Operators

Passengers and Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) operators are advised to prefer travel on Jammu–Srinagar NH-44 during daytime hours.

People should avoid unnecessary travel due to ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal, which may cause inconvenience to commuters.

NH-44 Traffic Update

No traffic movement will be allowed between Nashri and Navyug Tunnel during the night closure period due to execution of construction works.

SFs Convoy Movement

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, security force vehicles will be allowed from both sides after receiving clearance from road maintenance agencies.

Sinthan Road (Kishtwar–Srinagar Route)

As per orders issued by:

Divisional Commissioner Jammu vide No. SMC/2025-27/270-78 dated 24-05-2025

SDM Kokernag vide No. SDM/KNG/2025-27/1000 dated 25-05-2026

and subject to fair weather and road conditions, traffic movement will be permitted after receiving a green signal from NHIDCL.

Vehicle Movement :

Passenger/private cars will be allowed from Gowarwan (Kishtwar) towards Srinagar via Sinthan Pass and Daksum between 0600 hrs and 0900 hrs.

Vehicles will also be allowed from Daksum towards Kishtwar between 1200 hrs and 1600 hrs.

HMVs up to six tyres and HPVs (seating capacity up to 20 passengers) will be allowed from Srinagar towards Kishtwar between 0600 hrs and 0900 hrs.

Drivers are advised to follow traffic regulations and instructions issued by traffic authorities.

SS ROAD (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Kargil Road)

As per order issued by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir vide No. DivCom/Dev/102/2026-4430 dated 14-05-2026, subject to fair weather and good road conditions:

LMVs will be allowed to move from both sides.

Traffic towards Srinagar from Sonamarg side will be allowed.

Vehicles from Minamarg towards Srinagar will be allowed between 1200 hrs and 1500 hrs only.

No vehicle movement will be allowed after 1500 hrs.

Drivers are advised to carry and use anti-skid chains due to slippery road conditions.

TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will inform concerned commuters regarding cut-off timings.

Security forces moving on SS Road should plan their movement in a way that civilian traffic is not disturbed.

Mughal Road

As per the order issued by District Magistrate Shopian vide No. DM/Shopian-PS/25-2026/278-35 dated 22-04-2026, subject to fair weather and good road conditions:

LMVs will be allowed from both sides.

Traffic from Bufliaz (Poonch) towards Shopian will be allowed between 1000 hrs and 1700 hrs.

Traffic from Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch will be allowed between 1000 hrs and 1700 hrs.

Commuters must follow the cut-off timings.

TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar will inform concerned travellers about traffic timings.

People are advised to undertake journeys only after confirming road status from Traffic Control Units.
