JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 18th August 2026
JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 18th August 2026
From 16-08-2026, 1600 hrs to 17-08-2026, 1600 hrs, very slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane, undulating and uneven road conditions. The road was blocked for some time between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, in addition to the breakdown of two vehicles at Nachlana and Marog.
In view of the inclement weather conditions forecast by the IMD, with a likely spell of rainfall over the next few days, the general public is advised to undertake journeys only after confirming the status of roads from the TCU Srinagar/Ramban/Jammu. Commuters are also advised to check the status of roads through the J&K Traffic Police Twitter and Facebook pages.
Traffic Movement & Advisory
Traffic is being managed on a regulated basis at Dandwal, Udhampur on NH-44, due to a single lane for approximately 30–40 metres.
Passenger/LMV operators are advised to prefer journeys on the Jammu-Srinagar NHW during daytime. Night travel should be avoided due to the apprehension of shooting stones/landslides and ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal, which may cause inconvenience to commuters.
Goods carrier/HMV operators carrying fresh/perishable stock are advised to load their vehicles as per the advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters, as there is an apprehension of shooting stones/landslides as well as ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal.
HMV owners/operators are requested to desist from overloading and carry sufficient fuel during their journey on the Jammu-Srinagar NHW.
Vehicle owners should double-check the fitness of their vehicles and carry sufficient fuel before undertaking a journey on the Jammu-Srinagar NHW.
Commuters are advised to avoid unnecessary halts between Ramban and Banihal, especially near landslide/shooting-stone areas.
