JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 19th July 2026
JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 19th July 2026
Daily Traffic Plan & Advisory
Traffic Update (From 17-07-2026, 1600 hrs to 18-07-2026, 1800 hrs)
Traffic movement was observed on NH-44. However, slow movement continued due to single-lane road conditions between Marog and Kishtwari Pathar, in addition to the breakdown of four vehicles between Ramban and Banihal.
In view of the inclement weather conditions forecast by the Meteorological Department (MeT), including the likelihood of heavy rainfall over the coming days, the general public is advised to undertake journeys only after confirming the latest road status from the Traffic Control Units (TCUs). Commuters are also advised to follow the J&K Traffic Police Twitter handle and Facebook page for real-time updates.
Important Advisory for Commuters
Local commuters travelling in private vehicles towards Srinagar are advised to use the Old Road via Jawahar Tunnel to avoid congestion at Lamber (Banihal).
Passengers travelling to Batote, Doda, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar and adjoining areas should use the Old Road via Patnitop while travelling from Jammu to avoid congestion at Nashri.
Passenger vehicle operators are advised to undertake journeys on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway during daytime only. Night travel should be avoided due to the risk of shooting stones, landslides, ongoing road construction between Ramban and Banihal, and movement related to the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
Operators carrying fresh perishable goods are advised to load their vehicles strictly as per the advisories issued by the Traffic Police Headquarters since Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) are allowed on alternate days only.
Fruit growers and HMV operators transporting perishable goods from the Valley towards Jammu should load and park their vehicles before 8:00 AM at the designated parking locations between NAVYUG Tunnel and Levdora so that their movement can be facilitated smoothly on the designated day.
HMV owners and operators should avoid overloading, ensure their vehicles are mechanically fit, and carry sufficient fuel before undertaking their journey.
Commuters are advised to avoid unnecessary travel between Ramban and Banihal, particularly in areas vulnerable to landslides and shooting stones.
