JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 19th June 2026
From 17-06-2026, 1600 hrs to 18-06-2026, 1600 hrs, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane conditions between Marog and Kishtwari Pather.
Passengers/L.M.V operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during daytime. Night travel should be avoided due to the apprehension of shooting stones/landslides as well as ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal, which may cause inconvenience to commuters.
NH-44 (NHW)
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs, Passenger Vehicles, Private Cars, HMVs (Goods Carriers) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) i.e., from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa.
Commuters are advised to:
Follow lane discipline.
Avoid overtaking and wrong-lane driving, as it may cause congestion.
TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding road conditions.
Security Forces Convoy Movement
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) i.e., Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa.
They shall move only after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244
As per orders issued by:

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, and after receiving a green signal from road maintenance agencies (NHIDCL):
LMVs Passenger/Private Cars
Shall be allowed to ply from both sides:
Kishtwar towards Srinagar
Srinagar towards Kishtwar
Vehicles shall be allowed to move from:
PP Parana and Daksum
Timing: 0800 hrs to 1600 hrs
HMVs & HPSVs
HMVs up to six tyres
HPSVs (seating capacity up to 30 passengers only)
Shall be allowed to ply from Srinagar towards Kishtwar.
These vehicles shall be allowed to move from Daksum between 0800 hrs and 1600 hrs.
No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timing.
TCU Jammu/Ramban and TCU Srinagar shall inform all concerned regarding the cut-off timings.
SSG ROAD
As per order issued by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir vide No. DivCom/K/Dev/100/2026/4382-4410 dated 14-05-2026, subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
LMVs
LMVs shall be allowed to ply from both sides:
Sonamarg towards Kargil
Minamarg towards Srinagar
Movement shall be allowed only after receiving clearance from road maintenance agencies.
Timing: Up to 1300 hrs
HMVs
HMVs shall be allowed:
From Minamarg towards Srinagar
Timing: 1200 hrs to 1700 hrs
No vehicle shall be allowed after 1700 hrs.
Motorists are advised to carry and use anti-skid chains to gain better grip on slippery roads.
TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil shall inform all concerned regarding cut-off timings.
Security Forces convoy movement on the SSG Road should be planned in a manner that civil traffic is not disturbed.
Mughal Road
As per orders issued by:

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
Vehicular movement (LMVs followed by HMVs up to six tyres only) shall be allowed from both sides:
Poonch towards Shopian
Shopian towards Poonch
Movement Timings :
From Chandimarh (Buffliaz) towards Shopian:
0900 hrs to 1700 hrs
From Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch:
1000 hrs to 1700 hrs
Movement shall be allowed after obtaining clearance from the road maintenance agency (GREF).
No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timings.
TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar shall inform all concerned regarding cut-off timings.
