JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 1st June 2026

 

General Traffic Update

From 30-05-2026, 1600 hrs to 31-05-2026, 1600 hrs, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane conditions between Marog and Kishtwar, heavy rainfall, and movement of nomadic herds.

Two nomadic herds were reported crossing near Nachlana–Banihal. Crossing of single-lane stretches at Marog and Kishtwar is likely to slow down traffic. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline and avoid overtaking.

Passengers/operators are advised to plan journeys on Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime. Night travel is discouraged due to:

NH-44 Traffic Plan

Subject to fair weather and better road conditions:

LMVs (Passenger/Private Cars/HMVs – Goods carriers) will be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW.

Commuters must follow lane discipline; overtaking and wrong-lane driving can cause congestion.

Traffic Control Units (TCU Jammu/Srinagar) will coordinate.

 

Security Forces Movement (SFs Convoy)

Security Forces vehicles will be allowed from both sides on NH-44.

Movement will be regulated after confirmation from TCU Ramban.

 

Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244

Subject to weather and road conditions.

LMVs and passenger vehicles allowed from both sides.

Movement from Kishtwar towards Srinagar and vice versa permitted.

Vehicles will be allowed between 0800 hrs to 1600 hrs.

No movement after cut-off timing.

 

SSG ROAD

Subject to weather and road conditions.

LMVs will be allowed from both sides.

Movement controlled by TCU Srinagar.

 

Mughal Road

Subject to weather and road conditions.

Only LMVs (Passenger/Private Cars) allowed.

Traffic allowed from both sides:

Shopian → Poonch

Poonch → Shopian

Timing: 0500 hrs to 1700 hrs

No heavy vehicles permitted.
