TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 23-06-2026

Traffic Police Headquarters, J&K has issued a traffic advisory regarding the movement of vehicles on various highways and roads.

🚧 General Advisory

From 21-06-2026, 1600 hrs to 22-06-2026, 1600 hrs, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane traffic conditions between Marog and Kishtwar Pather.

Passengers and LMV operators are advised to prefer journey on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway during daytime.

Night travel should be avoided due to the possibility of:

Shooting stones

Landslides

Ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal, which may cause inconvenience to commuters.

🛣️ NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar National Highway)

Subject to fair weather and better road conditions:

LMVs, Passenger Vehicles, HPVs, Private Cars and HMVs (Goods Carriers) shall be allowed to move from both sides on NH-44.

Vehicles will ply from:

Jammu towards Srinagar

Srinagar towards Jammu

Important Instructions:

Commuters must follow lane discipline.

Overtaking and wrong-lane driving may cause congestion.

TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar will coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding road conditions.

🚔 Security Forces Convoy Movement

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:

Security Forces vehicles will be allowed to move on NH-44 from both directions.

Convoy movement will be permitted only after confirmation of highway status from TCU Ramban.

🛣️ Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244

As per orders issued by:

SDM Chatroo vide No. SDM/C/2026-27/270-78 dated 24-05-2026

SDM Kokernag vide No. SDMKNG/26-27/296 dated 25-05-2026

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, and after receiving clearance from road maintenance agencies (NHIDCL):

Vehicle Movement:

LMVs, Passenger Vehicles and Private Cars will be allowed from both sides:

Kishtwar towards Srinagar

Srinagar towards Kishtwar

Timing:

Vehicles from PP Parana and Daksum will be allowed between 08:00 AM to 04:00 PM.

Heavy Vehicles:

HMVs up to six tyres and HPSVs (seating capacity up to 30 passengers only) will be allowed from:

Srinagar towards Kishtwar

Important:

No vehicle will be allowed after the cut-off timing.

TCU Jammu, TCU Ramban and TCU Srinagar will inform concerned persons regarding cut-off timings.

🛣️ SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri Road)

As per Divisional Commissioner Kashmir order vide No. DivComDev/100/2026/4302-4410 dated 14-06-2026:

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:

LMV Movement:

LMVs will be allowed from both sides on:

Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri Road

Vehicles will move:

Sonamarg towards Kargil

Minamarg towards Srinagar

Movement will be allowed up to 01:00 PM after receiving clearance from road maintenance agencies.

HMV Movement:

HMVs will be allowed from Minamarg towards Srinagar between 12:00 PM and 05:00 PM.

Important:

No vehicle will be allowed after 05:00 PM.

TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will inform concerned persons about cut-off timings.

Security Forces Convoy:

Security Forces convoys on SSG Road should plan their movement in a way that civilian traffic is not disturbed.

🛣️ Mughal Road

As per orders issued by:

District Magistrate Shopian vide No. DMS/ADM-PS/25-26/276-85 dated 22-04-2026

District Magistrate Poonch vide No. DMJ/P/376-91 dated 22-04-2026

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:

Vehicle Movement:

LMVs followed by HMVs up to six tyres will be allowed from both sides:

Poonch towards Shopian

Shopian towards Poonch

Timing:

From Chandimarh (Buffliaz) towards Shopian: 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM

From Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch: 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM

Movement will be allowed after clearance from road maintenance agency (GREF).

Important:

No vehicle will be allowed after the cut-off timings.

TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar will inform commuters regarding timings.

⚠️ Advisory to General Public

People are advised to undertake journeys only after confirming road status from Traffic Control Units.
