JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 29th June 2026
From 27-06-2026, 1600 hrs. to 28-06-2026, 1600 hrs. slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane conditions between Marog and Kishtwari Pathar, in addition to the breakdown of 03 HMVs between Ramban and Banihal.
In view of the dry run of the convoys for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, no traffic movement shall be allowed (tonight) on the intervening night of 28th and 29th June, 2026, from Nagrota (Jammu) after 0000 hrs. (12:00 a.m.), from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar after 0100 hrs. and from Qazigund towards Jammu after 0000 hrs., until the dry run is concluded.
Passengers/LMV operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime. Night travel should be avoided due to the apprehension of shooting stones/landslides as well as ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal which may cause inconvenience to commuters.
NH-44 (NHW)
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, after completion of dry run, LMVs (Passenger/HPSV/Private Cars/HMVs (Good carrier)) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) via Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline, overtaking, wrong lane driving will cause congestion. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall coordinate with ICQ Ramban regarding the road condition.
SFs Convoy Movement
SFs convoy moving on NH-44 shall plan their movement in such a manner that the dry run of the convoy for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is not disturbed. They shall move after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244
As per order issued by the SDM Chatroo vide No. SDM/C/2026-27/270-78 dated 24-05-2026 and the SDM Kokernag vide No. SDM/KNG/26-27/206 dated 25-05-2026, subject to fair weather and good condition, after getting green signal from Road Maintenance agencies (NHCCL), LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed to ply from both sides via Kishtwar towards Srinagar and vice versa on Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag road. These vehicles shall be allowed to move from HP Pavas and Daksum between 0800 hrs and 1600 hrs. However, HMVs up to six tyres and PSVs (seating capacity up to 20 passengers only) shall be allowed to ply from Sinthan towards Kishtwar and these vehicles shall be allowed to move from Daksum between 0800 hrs and 1600 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timing. TCU Jammu/Ramban/TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned about the cut-off timing.
SSG Road
As per order issued by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir vide No. DivCom/Dev/100/2026/4392-4410 dated 14-05-2026, subject to fair weather and good road conditions, LMVs shall be allowed to ply from both sides on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari Road, i.e., from Srinagar towards Kargil and vice versa. These vehicles shall be allowed to move from Sonamarg towards Kargil and from Minamarg towards Srinagar only. After receiving green signal from the Road Maintenance agencies by 1230 hrs., HMVs shall be allowed to move from Minamarg towards Srinagar between 1300 hrs and 1700 hrs. and no vehicle shall be allowed after 1700 hrs. Motorists are advised to carry and use anti-skid chain to gain more grip on the slippery road. TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will inform all concerned about the cut-off timing.
SFs convoy moving on the SSG road shall plan their movement in such a manner that civilian traffic is not disturbed.
Mughal Road
As per the order issued by the District Magistrate Shopian vide No. DMS/ADM-PSY/25-26/278-85 dated 22-04-2026 and the District Magistrate, Poonch vide No. DMP/J376/91 dated 22-04-2026, and subject to fair weather and good road conditions, vehicular movement (LMVs followed by HMVs up to six tyres only) shall be allowed on Mughal Road from both sides, i.e., from Poonch towards Shopian and vice versa. These vehicles shall be allowed from Chandimarg (Buffliaz) towards Shopian between 0900 hrs and 1700 hrs, and from Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch between 1000 hrs and 1700 hrs, after obtaining clearance from the Road Maintenance agency (GREF). No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timings. TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar shall inform all concerned regarding the cut-off timings.
