J&K Weather Nowcast Update (Issued at 7:00 PM)

The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a nowcast warning for Jammu & Kashmir, forecasting rainfall and thunderstorms over several areas during the next 2–3 hours.

🌩️ Weather Forecast :

A spell of rain/thundershowers is likely over many areas of:

Kupwara

Baramulla

Bandipora

Ganderbal

Budgam and adjoining areas

Rain and thunderstorms are also expected along:

Sonamarg–Baltal–Holy Cave axis

Pahalgam–Holy Cave axis

Parts of South Kashmir

Tral area

Some locations may experience brief intense showers, thunderstorms, hailstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.

⚠️ Advisory :

People are advised to stay indoors during thunderstorms and lightning activity.

Avoid standing near loose structures, electric wires, poles, and old trees.

Boating activities and Shikara rides in all water bodies, including Dal Lake, should be suspended for the next 3 hours.

There is a possibility of hailstorms and intense rainfall in parts of Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, and some pockets of South Kashmir.

A risk of flash floods and mudslides exists in vulnerable areas during the next 2–3 hours.
