JKAS Probationers Posting Order 2026
The Jammu and Kashmir Government has issued a major administrative order regarding the posting of 21 Junior Scale probationers of the 2025 batch of Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS).
The order has been issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), Services, under Government Order No. 1563-JK(GAD) of 2026 dated September 22, 2026. As per the order, the services of 21 Junior Scale probationers who were awaiting adjustment in the General Administration Department have been placed at the disposal of various Administrative Departments for further posting.
According to the Government Order, the 21 officers belong to the 2025 batch of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service. They were presently awaiting orders of adjustment in the General Administration Department.
The government has now placed their services at the disposal of different Administrative Departments, including Cooperatives, Employment, Handicrafts and Handloom, Industries and Commerce, Revenue, Rural Development and Social Welfare.
The respective departments have been directed to post the officers immediately in accordance with the applicable transfer policy guidelines.
Posting Outside Home Districts
The Government Order specifies that the officers should generally be posted outside their home districts while making their departmental postings.
However, an exception has been provided for officers appointed to JKAS on the basis of being residents of Backward Areas (RBA) or areas adjoining the Line of Actual Control (ALC).

Such officers are to be posted in their respective areas in accordance with the provisions referred to in the J&K Reservation Act, 2004.
21 JKAS Posts Transferred for Salary
The order further states that 21 Junior Scale JKAS posts have been transferred to the respective Administrative Departments for the purpose of drawing the salaries of the officers.
The probationers have also been directed to join their allotted departments with immediate effect.
