Man who stabbed his uncle to death in Srinagar arrested: Police
“Case filed, further investigation underway”
A man has been arrested for stabbing his uncle to death during a fight in Hafta Yarbal locality of Srinagar’s Safakadal on Sunday morning even as further probe is going on, police said.
An altercation broke out between a butcher namely Irfan Ahmad Ganie and his uncle Nisar Ahmad Ganie, and Irfan’s another uncle Fayaz Ahmad Ganie – the victim – tried to intervene but was stabbed by Irfan.
He said that soon after the incident the victim was rushed to SMHS hospital, however, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The official said that acting swiftly, the police arrested the accused namely Irfan Ahmad Ganie son of Mohd Shafi Ganie resident within hours after the incident.
He said that a case FIR No. 29/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Safakadal.
“The weapon of offence has been seized. Forensic analysis and medico-legal procedures are currently underway and further investigation is going on,” the official said—(KNO)
Man Fatally Stabbed in Srinagar Safa Kadal; Investigation Underway
A tragic incident unfolded in Safa Kadal, Haft Yarbal area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Sunday morning, as a man was brutally attacked with an unidentified object, resulting in critical injuries and ultimately claiming his life.
The victim, identified as Fayaz Ah Ganie, aged 37 and son of Wali Mohd Ganie, hailed from Haft Yarbal Safa Kadal.
An official told news agency that , Ganie sustained severe injuries from the assailant’s weapon and was rushed to the nearest hospital for urgent medical attention.
However, he was declared dead upon arrival.
Law enforcement authorities swiftly responded to the scene, initiating an investigation into the tragic incident. The circumstances surrounding the attack remain under scrutiny as authorities work to ascertain the motive and apprehend the perpetrator responsible for this act of violence.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident, and investigation has begun in this regard.
