Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) is still closed for vehicular movement as clearance work is going on at Gangroo, Banihal to clear the debris caused by huge landslide yesterday late evening. Commuters are advised to avoid travelling until the road is declared safe and clear for traffic, as there is an apprehension of further landslides and shooting stones. Mughal Road Closed For Traffic After Multiple Landslides
Strategic Poonch-Rajouri To Shopian Link Hit; Clearance Work Underway
The Mughal Road, the strategic highway connecting the twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri with Shopian in South Kashmir, was closed for traffic on Saturday following multiple landslides.
SO Traffic, Mughal Road, Mohd Mahroof confirmed to news agency that vehicular movement has been suspended as a precautionary measure after debris and slides were reported at several places along the route.
Officials said men and machinery have been deployed to clear the affected stretches. The road will be reopened for traffic once it is declared safe for movement, they added.
