Sujit Kumar Says terrorist has support of few foreign terrorists being tracked down amid changing locations; Rules out giving fixed figure of active terrorists; refers to successful operation in Kunj, Budgam higher reaches
Srinagar, Nov 05 : Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Sujit Kumar Singh on Thursday said that one local terrorist, who had orchestrated attacks in Anantnag and Kulgam areas, was being supported by a few foreign terrorists.
Addressing press conference in Srinagar, IGP Sujit as per news agency said, On the security situation, “there was one local terrorist who had orchestrated attacks in the Anantnag and Kulgam areas and was being supported by a few foreign terrorists.”
He, however, cautioned against putting a fixed figure on the number of active terrorists in the Kashmir zone, saying their movement keeps changing.
“They may be at one location today and somewhere else the next day. We are tracking them, and giving any fixed figure would be an exaggeration,” he said.
Asked about recent infiltration attempts, the IGP said he did not have solid data to share and would not make any claim without confirmed information.
