The Minister urged the Supreme Court and the Government of India to ensure a fair and transparent probe into the matter and demanded severe punishment for every person involved, irrespective of status or influence. “No one should be allowed to play with the future of children by buying and selling their capabilities through money,” she said.
Responding to a question regarding downsizing of official convoys after austerity measures announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and later adopted by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and senior police officials, Sakina Itoo said such steps are positive if they help reduce inconvenience and contribute in difficult situations.
