Pedal Through Paradise: Traffic Diversions issued

TRAFFIC ADVISORY

J&K Police is going to organize a Cycle Race-2026 “Pedal through Paradise” on Thursday, 29th October 2026, on the routes from Lalit Ghat (Police Golf Course) to Nagbal Chowk via Foreshore Road, and from Lalit Ghat to Harwan via Shalimar.

In order to facilitate the smooth movement of cyclists on the Boulevard Road, Srinagar, from Lalit Ghat to Harwan and from Lalit Ghat to Pandach, the road will remain closed to general traffic in the morning from 07:00 AM until the conclusion of the event on Thursday, 29th October 2026.

In order to ensure smooth traffic movement and convenience for the general public and motorists, the following traffic advisory is issued:

Traffic Restrictions and Diversions

1. Boulevard Road Restrictions: All traffic movement on the Boulevard Road from Lalit Ghat to Harwan via Shalimar, and from Lalit Ghat to Pandach Crossing via Zakoo ra, will be discouraged.

2. Diversion for Motorists from Harwan and New Theed: Motorists coming from Harwan and New Theed are advised to use the Burzahama route via Chandpora – Tailbal – Zakora – Malbagh – Illahibagh – 90 Feet Road, and vice versa, to reach their respective destinations.

3. Diversion for Motorists from Ganderbal/Nagbal: Motorists travelling from the Ganderbal/Nagbal side towards Lal Chowk are advised to use the 90 Feet Soura Road, and vice versa, to reach their destinations.

4. Restriction at R.M. Bagh Crossing: No traffic will be allowed from R.M. Bagh Crossing towards Lalit Ghat, except for participants in the event.

5. Avoid Unnecessary Travel: The general public is requested to avoid unnecessary movement on the Boulevard Road from Lalit Ghat to Harwan via Shalimar and from Lalit Ghat to Pandach via Zakora Road, particularly from 05:00 AM until the conclusion of the event.

6. Restrictions Near Dal Lake: No traffic will be allowed from Badyari towards Lalit Crossing. Similarly, no traffic will be permitted from Dalgate to Nishat via Badyari. Likewise, traffic will not be allowed from Nishat towards Lal Chowk.

7. Medical Emergencies and Airport-bound Traffic: Motorists travelling towards Srinagar Airport, as well as those dealing with medical emergencies, will be allowed to move via the Foreshore–Dargah–Khanyar Road.

8. Traffic Assistance: In case any assistance is required, citizens are requested to contact the Traffic Police Control Room at 103.

The Traffic Police have requested the public to cooperate with the traffic arrangements and follow the prescribed diversions to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the cycling event.
