Poonch Schools to Remain Closed for Students on July 28; Staff Directed to Attend

Poonch, July 27: All government and recognized private schools across District Poonch will remain closed for students on July 28, 2026.

However, teaching and non-teaching staff have been instructed to report to their respective schools to carry out administrative work, academic planning, safety inspections, and preparedness-related responsibilities.

School authorities will inspect classrooms, school buildings, boundary walls, sanitation facilities, drinking water systems, electricity, and other essential infrastructure to evaluate safety after the recent spell of heavy rainfall and landslides.

A decision regarding the resumption of student classes will be taken only after the School Safety and Readiness Reports are reviewed and approved by the competent authority.

Students are advised not to attend schools until further instructions are issued.
