Schools Closed in Ramban, Kishtwar and Doda; Online Classes Ordered Amid Bad Weather

Authorities Suspend Physical Classes as Precaution Amid Adverse Weather, Slippery Roads and Shooting Stone Threat

In view of the prevailing heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions, the authorities on Saturday ordered the closure of all government and private schools in the districts of Ramban, Kishtwar and Doda as a precautionary measure.

According to orders issued by the respective Chief Education Officers, as per news agency, the decision has been taken on the directions of the concerned district administrations to ensure the safety of students and teaching staff.

In Kishtwar, the closure has been ordered due to continuous rainfall, slippery road conditions and the possibility of shooting stones, which pose a risk to commuters and school-going children.

Similarly, all government and private schools in Ramban have been directed to remain closed for the day owing to heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions across the district.

The District Administration Doda has also ordered the closure of all government and private educational institutions due to inclement weather.

The education authorities in all three districts have directed Heads of Institutions to conduct online classes through appropriate digital platforms to ensure that academic activities remain uninterrupted.

The administrations have advised the public to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel in view of the prevailing weather conditions. (JKNS)
