Shah, Yogi to address 4 rallies each in Jammu region on Sept 26

Rajnath, Gadkari too to join canvassing
* More star campaigners reaching for final phase

After addressing six rallies on September 21 and 22, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to address four more public meetings in Kathua and Udhampur districts on September 26 while Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also hold an equal number of rallies the same day.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister for Road Traffic and Highways Nitin Gadkari, other Union Ministers, ex Central Ministers and Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled States will also be campaigning here from September 26 to 29 for third and final phase of voting on October 1 in 24 Assembly constituencies of the Jammu division.

As already reported, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a massive rally at MA Stadium here on September 28 in favour of the BJP candidates for third phase.

Shah is scheduled to address four elections rallies at Bani, Kathua, Udhampur and Chenani falling in Kathua and Udhampur districts on September 26.

Shahโ€™s rally at Kathua will be joint for Kathua and Jasrota Assembly segments where Dr Bharat Bushan, a JKAS officer who took VRS to contest the elections and former Minister Rajiv Jasrotia, are the party candidates. The public meeting at Modi Ground at Battal Ballian will be joint for the party candidates Pawan Gupta, former Minister and RS Pathania, ex MLA contesting from Udhampur West and Udhampur East constituencies.

Jeevan Lal is the BJP candidate in Bani. He had won the seat in 2014 also while Balwant Singh Mankotia, a two-time MLA from Udhampur, is in the fray from Chenani this time.

This will be fourth visit of the Home Minister in Jammu region during the ongoing Assembly elections in the UT. He visited here on September 6 and 7 and released the party manifesto (Sankalp Patra) and addressed workers meeting at Paloura.

He undertook another visit to the region on September 16 and addressed three election rallies in Paddar-Nagseni, Kishtwar and Ramban Assembly constituencies. His third visit was for three days from September 20 to 22 during which he addressed six rallies in Rajouri, Poonch and Jammu districts.

This, however, will be first visit of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for addressing rallies in the Assembly elections.
Adityanathโ€™s rallies on September 26 are scheduled at Jourian, RS Pura, Marh and Gudwal (Ramgarh) Assembly segments in Jammu and Samba districts.

Adityanath had campaigned in Kathua during Lok Sabha elections.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister of Road Traffic and Highways Nitin Gadkari are also scheduled to address rallies on September 26 and 27. The rally venues are expected to be finalized tomorrow morning.

Besides them, Union Ministers, ex Central Ministers and Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled States will also be canvassing in different constituencies in the next couple of days.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as already reported, will be addressing a mega rally at MA Stadium on September 28 which will be combined for 20 candidates of the BJP from Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts.

This will be fourth rally of the Prime Minister during the Assembly elections. He addressed an election rally at Doda on September 14 followed by two rallies at Srinagar and Katra on September 19.

Election campaign for third and final phase of the polling scheduled for October 1 will end in the evening of September 29.

Twenty four Assembly constituencies of the Jammu division will go to polls in final phase including 11 in Jammu district, three in Samba district, six Kathua district and four in Udhampur district
