Tara Chand to face ED over illegal appointments, assets, sexual exploitation charges
Congress leader Tara Chand is set to face the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on charges related to illegal appointments, assets accumulation, and sexual exploitation.
Tara Chand, who served as the Deputy Chief Minister (DyCM), is currently facing multiple cases of corruption, illegal appointments, asset accumulation, and forced abortions. Sources have revealed that while Tara Chand is presently embroiled in corruption cases, new investigations will be launched into the exploitation of girls, as exposed by his former personal assistant.
These allegations will be reopened and thoroughly investigated. Furthermore, it has been reported that Tara Chand made numerous illegal appointments and amassed substantial wealth during his tenure. The ED will be probing these matters extensively.
Meanwhile, sources say Tara Chand used his power to hush up cases after the arrest of his PA, Kewal. There were several serious allegations against Tara Chand, but the cases were hushed up. With elections approaching in J&K, the ED is expected to act soon. Sources indicate that the ED is collecting all relevant material against Tara Chand and plans to arrest him before the assembly elections. In addition, sources indicate that the revenue records of another Congress leader are being collected.
Currently, there are six senior Congress leaders who are facing criminal cases that were hushed up during the UPA government. The government intends to reopen all these cases before the assembly elections.
