TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 27-04-2026
From 25-04-2026, 1800 hrs to 28-04-2026, 1800 hrs, there was slow movement on NH-44 due to single lane traffic between Marog and Khudiyar Pather. In addition to breakdown of 03 HMV’s and movement of 15 nomadic herds.
Passengers/LMV operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime. Light travel should be avoided due to apprehension of shooting stones/landslides, movement of nomads towards valley as well as ongoing construction between Ramban and Banihal which may cause inconvenience to commuters.
NH-44 (NHW) :
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs, Passenger/HPVs/Private cars/mini buses shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) via Marog towards Srinagar and vice-versa. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline, overtaking wrong lane driving will cause congestion. Travel should avoid peak hours. TCU Ramban regarding the road condition.
SFS Convoy Movement :
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) via Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. They shall move after confirming status of NHW from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244 :
As per order issued by the SDM Chatro vide No. SDM/C/2026-27/82-71 dated 13-04-2026 and the SDM Kokernag vide No. SDM/ENG/2025-26/98-101 dated 14-04-2026, subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from TCU Anantnag, LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed to ply from Srinagar towards Kishtwar via Daksum–Sinthan Top. These vehicles shall be allowed from Daksum between 0700 hrs to 1500 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing. TCU Jammu/Ramban/TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned about the cut off timing.
SSG ROAD :
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after receiving green signal from the road maintenance agencies, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed to ply from Srinagar towards Kargil on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri road. In view of the apprehension of avalanches along the Zoji La axis, these vehicles shall be allowed to move from Sonamarg towards Kargil only after receiving green signal from the road maintenance agencies and no vehicle shall be allowed after 1030 hrs. Motorists are advised to carry anti-skid chains to be used in case of slippery road. TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will inform all concerned about the cut off timing.
SFS Convoy Movement :
Security Forces convoy from Srinagar towards Kargil shall plan their movement in consultation with TCU Srinagar and TCU Kargil.
Mughal Road :
As per the orders issued by the District Magistrate, Shopian vide No. DMS/ADM/SP/25-26/276-85 dated 22-04-2026 and the District Magistrate, Poonch vide No. DMP/JRC-91 dated 22-04-2026, subject to fair weather and good road conditions, vehicular movement (LMVs followed by HMVs up to six tyres only) shall be allowed on Mughal Road from both sides, i.e., from Poonch towards Shopian and vice-versa. These vehicles shall be allowed from Chandimar (Buffliaz) towards Shopian between 0900 hrs and 1700 hrs, and from Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch between 1000 hrs and 1700 hrs, obtaining clearance from road maintenance agency (GREF). No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut off timings. TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar shall inform all concerned regarding the cut off timings.
