TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 28-04-2026

From 26-04-2026, 1600 hrs to 27-04-2026, 1600 hrs, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane conditions between Marog and Kishtwari Pathar. In addition to the breakdown of 02 HMVs in the Ramban sector and the movement of 11 nomadic herds, traffic movement remained slow. Owing to ongoing movement of 08 nomadic herds, traffic on the single-lane stretch from Marog to Kishtwari Pathar is likely to slow down. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline and avoid overtaking.

No movement of goods carriers (HMVs/LMVs) shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa on 1st and 3rd May, 2026 (Friday and Sunday), in view of the movement of Secretariat employees from Jammu to Srinagar. Goods carrier (HMV/LMV) operators transporting fresh perishable or livestock are advised to plan and avail the exclusion accordingly.

Passenger/LMV operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime. Night travel should be avoided due to the apprehension of shooting stones/landslides, movement of nomadic herds as well as ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal which may cause inconvenience to commuters.

NH-44 (NHW)
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs Passenger/Private Cars/HMVs (Good carrier) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline, overtaking would be disallowed completely. Traffic shall move/stagger as per schedule with TCU Ramban regarding the road condition.

SFG Convoy Movement :
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) via Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. They shall move after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244 :
As per order issued by the SDM Chatroo vide No. SDM/C/2026/27-62/71 dated 13-04-2026 and SDM Kokernag vide No. SDM/K/2025-269/1 dated 14-04-2026, subject to fair weather and good road condition, motor vehicles shall be allowed from Jammu towards Anantnag via Kishtwar and Sinthan Top. These vehicles shall be allowed from PP Paryan between 0830 hrs to 1500 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timing. TCU Jammu/Ramban/TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned about the cut-off timing.

SSG ROAD
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after receiving green signal from the road maintenance agencies, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed to ply from Kargil towards Srinagar on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri road. In view of the apprehension of avalanches along the Zojila axis, these vehicles shall be allowed to move from Minamarg towards Srinagar only after clearance from the BRO. Traffic shall be released in staggered manner on either side. HMVs shall be allowed after 1900 hrs or after clearance from road maintenance agencies.

Mughal Road :
As per the orders issued by the District Magistrate, Shopian vide No. DMS/ADM-Ps/25-26/85 dated 22-04-2026 and the District Magistrate, Poonch vide No. DM/Jud/93-91 dated 22-04-2026, subject to fair weather and good road conditions, vehicular movement (LMVs followed by HMVs) shall be allowed from Shopian towards Poonch via the Mughal Road. Vehicles shall be allowed from PP Pinch between 0900 hrs to 1700 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timing. TCU Shopian/Poonch shall inform all concerned about the cut-off timing.
