TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 29-04-2026
From 27-04-2026, 1600 hrs to 28-04-2026, 1600 hrs, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane conditions between Marog and Kishtwar Pather, in addition to breakdown of 03 HMVs between Ramban and Ramsu and the movement of IndiGo Chartered Convoy.
Owing to ongoing movement of nomadic herds, traffic on the single-lane stretch from Marog to Kishtwar Pather is likely to remain slow. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline and avoid overtaking.
No movement of goods carrier (HMV/MV) shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa on 1st and 3rd May 2026 (Friday and Sunday), in view of the movement of Secretariat employees from Jammu to Srinagar.
Goods carrier (HMV/LV) operators transporting fresh perishables or livestock are advised to plan and travel accordingly.
Passenger LMVs operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu–Srinagar NH-44 during daytime.
Night travel should be avoided due to the apprehension of shooting stones, landslides, movement of nomadic herds, and weak single-lane construction work between Ramban and Banihal which may cause inconvenience to commuters.
NH-44 (NHW)
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs, Passenger/HMV, Private Cars/HMVs (Goods carrier) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline, overtaking when necessary, driving with caution, Traffic and Civil Administration instructions.

SFC CONVOY MOVEMENT
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, Security Force vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. They shall move after confirming the status of NH-44 from TCU Ramban.
KISHTWAR–SINTHAN–NAGPUR (NH-244)
As per order issued by the SDM Chatroo vide No. SDM/CC/2025-27 dated 13-04-2026, the SDM Kokernag vide No. SDM/KG/2025-26/981 dated 14-04-2026, subject to fair weather and good road condition, passenger traffic including HMVs shall be allowed to ply from Kishtwar towards Ahlan–Sinthan Top. These vehicles shall be allowed from Kishtwar between 1000 hrs to 1500 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timing. TCU Jammu/Ramban/TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned about the cut-off timing.
SSG ROAD
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after receiving green signal from road maintenance agencies, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed to ply from Srinagar towards Kargil on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri road. In view of apprehension of avalanche along Zoji La axis, these vehicles shall be allowed to move from Sonamarg towards Kargil only after receiving green signal from road maintenance agencies and No vehicle shall be allowed after 1300 hrs. Motorists are advised to carry anti-skid chains to gain more grip on slippery road. TCU Srinagar and TCU Kargil shall coordinate about the cut-off timings. SFC Convoy, moving from Srinagar towards Kargil, shall ply in the afternoon if permitted by Traffic Control.
MUGHAL ROAD
As per the orders issued by the District Magistrate Shopian vide No. DM/PS/… dated 22-04-2026, subject to fair weather and good road conditions, vehicles including LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed to ply from Shopian towards Poonch between 0900 hrs to 1700 hrs and from Poonch towards Shopian between 1000 hrs to 1700 hrs. After obtaining clearance from Road Maintenance Agencies (R&B), vehicles shall be allowed after cut-off timing. TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar shall inform all concerned regarding the cut-off timings.
