TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 30-04-2026

From 28-04-2026, 1600 hrs. to 29-04-2026, 1600 hrs., slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single lane conditions between Marog and Khudwani Pather, in addition to the movement of livestock carrying (crossing) Nachlana–Banihal. Owing to ongoing movement of 02 nomadic herds, traffic on the single-lane stretch from Marog to Khudwani Pather is likely to slow down. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline and avoid overtaking.

No movement of goods carrier (HMVs/MMVs) shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa on 1st and 3rd May, 2026 (Friday and Sunday). In view of the movement of Secretariat employees from Jammu to Srinagar. Goods carrier (HMVs/MMVs) operators transporting fresh perishables or livestock are advised to plan and load their vehicles accordingly.

Passengers/LMV operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime. Night travel should be avoided due to the apprehension of shooting stones/landslides, movement of nomadic toward valley as well as ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal which may cause inconvenience to commuters.

NH-44 (NHW)
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs/Passenger/PHVs/Private Cars/HMVs (Goods Carrier) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline, overtaking, wrong lane driving will cause congestion. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall coordinate with concerned agencies for smooth conduct.

SF CONVOY MOVEMENT
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. They shall move after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244
As per order issued by the SDM Chatroo vide No. SDM/C/2026-27/62 dated 13-04-2026 and the SDM Kokernag vide No. SDM/K/2025-26/98-101 dated 14-04-2026, subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from Road Maintenance agencies (NHIDCL) only LMVs/Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed to ply from Kishtwar towards Srinagar via Sinthan Top. These vehicles shall be allowed from PP Parana between 1000 hrs. to 1500 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing. TCU Jammu, Ramban, Srinagar will inform all concerned about the cut off timing.

SSG ROAD
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after receiving green signal from road maintenance agencies, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed to ply from Kargil towards Srinagar on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri road. In view of the apprehension of avalanches along the Zojila axis, these vehicles shall be allowed to move from Minamarg towards Srinagar only after receiving green signal from the road maintenance agencies and ensuring clearance of snow. Motorists are advised to carry anti-skid chain to gain more grip on slippery road. TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will inform all concerned about the cut off timing.

Mughal Road
As per the orders issued by the District Magistrate, Shopian vide No. DMS/ADM-PS/25-26/765 dated 22-04-2026 and the District Magistrate, Poonch vide No. DM/P/3/19691 dated 22-04-2026, and subject to fair weather and good road condition, vehicle movement (LMVs followed by HMVs up to 12 tyres only) shall be allowed from both sides i.e., from Poonch towards Shopian and vice-versa. These vehicles shall be allowed from Chingam (Buffliaz) towards Shopian between 0800 hrs. and 1600 hrs., and from Shopian towards Poonch between 1000 hrs. and 1700 hrs. after obtaining clearance from the road maintenance agency (GREF). No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut off timing. TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar shall inform all concerned regarding the cut off timing.
