1. India Wins Eighth Women’s Asia Cup Title
The Indian women’s cricket team defeated Sri Lanka by 72 runs in the final in Dubai to win the Women’s Asia Cup 2026.
India scored 183/5.
Sri Lanka were bowled out for 111.
Shafali Verma scored 68 runs, while Smriti Mandhana made 59.
Shree Charani was the star with the ball, taking 4 wickets.
This was India’s record-extending eighth Women’s Asia Cup title.

Shafali Verma scored her half-century in just 24 balls, registering the fastest half-century in Women’s T20 Asia Cup history. Her 68-run knock, along with Mandhana’s 59, helped India establish a commanding total in the final.

Article 343(1) of the Constitution provides that the Official Language of the Union shall be Hindi in Devanagari script.

Indian archer Dhiraj Bommadevara became the first Indian male recurve archer to win gold at the Archery World Cup Final 2026, marking a significant achievement for Indian archery.
6. India–Afghanistan T20I Series
India defeated Afghanistan by seven wickets in the first T20I in New Delhi and took a 1–0 lead in the three-match series.
