1. India’s First Nuclear Hydrogen Production Facility Launched at IGCAR
The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) inaugurated the world’s first nuclear process heat-based hydrogen production facility at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam.
The facility uses the Copper–Chlorine (Cu–Cl) thermochemical cycle to produce hydrogen using nuclear heat.
The project supports India’s clean energy goals and the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
