1. India Objects to Incorrect Depiction of J&K and Ladakh on UN Map
India has reiterated that Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh must be represented according to India’s official map in the proposed UN world map. The Ministry of External Affairs said India would not accept inaccurate or misleading depictions of its sovereign territories.
2. Chhattisgarh Tops JSJB 3.0 Water Conservation Initiative
Chhattisgarh has secured the first position nationally under Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari (JSJB) 3.0, part of the Ministry of Jal Shakti’s Catch the Rain campaign. The state completed 77,719 out of 79,775 registered water-conservation structures.
3. IIT Madras and UNESCO MGIEP Join Hands for AI-Based Learning
IIT Madras and UNESCO MGIEP have partnered to develop AI-based immersive learning technologies combining Artificial Intelligence, Extended Reality (XR), game design and Social & Emotional Learning (SEL).
4. DRDO and University of Hyderabad Secure Patent for Rocket Propellant
DRDO and the University of Hyderabad’s ACRHEM have secured an Indian patent for BAM-H24, an advanced solid rocket propellant material designed for applications in rocket propulsion, missile systems and space launch vehicles.

5. UN Adopts ‘Correct the Map’ Resolution
The United Nations General Assembly adopted the “Correct the Map” resolution on September 4, 2026, promoting the Equal Earth projection as a more geographically representative alternative to the traditional Mercator projection. The resolution received 164 votes in favour.
